The following Security Council statement was issued today by Council President Mark Lyall Grant ( United Kingdom):
In accordance with paragraph 5 of resolution 1916 (2010) on Somalia, the Security Council has conducted its second 120-day review of the effects of the measures set out in that paragraph, based on all available information, including the report of the Humanitarian Aid Coordinator dated 23 November 2010. The Security Council noted that the measures in paragraph 5 of resolution 1916 (2010) remain necessary to address the situation in Somalia, which continues to constitute a threat to international peace and security.
