The following statement was issued today by the Spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon:
The Secretary-General condemns the attacks against embassies in Damascus which have resulted in damage to embassy premises and injuries to diplomatic personnel. He recalls that the security of diplomatic missions is the responsibility of the host countries and he reminds the Syrian Government of its obligations in this regard.
The Secretary-General reiterates his call for genuine and credible dialogue and political reforms, which should be carried out without delay.
