United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon accepted the invitation of United States President Barack Obama to attend a dinner on 13 October in Washington, D.C., in honour of President Lee Myung-bak of the Republic of Korea.

The Secretary-General, accompanied by Madam Ban Soon-taek, travelled to Washington on Thursday afternoon, 13 October, and returned to New York on Friday morning.
